Michael Mathews

President /Designated Broker

As the founder and President of Main Street Real Estate Advisors, Michael has over 20 years of experience in the commercial/institutional real estate industry. Prior to forming MSREA, Michael served as a Senior Portfolio Manager for Cushman & Wakefield where his duties included performing as General Manager of Kierland Commons in Scottsdale, Arizona. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Michael served as the Regional Director of Property Services for the Arizona Division of Insignia/ESG. Michael’s duties included the supervision of the Property Services Team for all Arizona properties including: property management, facility management, accounting and construction management services.

Prior to Insignia/ESG, Michael was an Asset Manager at SSR Realty Advisors, Inc., a subsidiary of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company from 1992 to 1999. He was responsible for the asset management of a portfolio of office, industrial, retail and multi-family properties for the Tower Fund, a separate open-end commingled fund with over $1 billion dollars of assets under management. One of Michael’s highlights while at SSR Realty Advisors came in 1997 when he managed the disposition of over $120 million dollars of office and multi-family properties as part of a repositioning strategy for the Tower Fund.

Prior to SSR Realty Advisors, Michael was Leasing Coordinator with the Missouri State Employee’s Retirement System. His duties at MOSERS included managing a portfolio of over 30 office, industrial, retail and multi-family properties throughout seven mid-western states. He also has experience as a mortgage analyst/underwriter and as a commercial real estate broker.

Michael has directed the operations of portfolios consisting of approximately 10 million square feet of commercial property with an estimated total value of $1 billion dollars, which included office, retail, industrial, and multi-family properties.

Michael received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Brigham Young University and an Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Real Estate/Finance from the University of Missouri. He is also the Designated Real Estate Broker for MSREA.
